Frequently Asked Questions

Creating Accounts and using Access Codes on Carolina Science Online
  1. Are there online tutorials that I can view which teach me how to use Carolina Science Online?

Brief tutorials are available to learn about CSO features. These are located on the homepage about mid-way down, right side. You can also link to the tutorials here.

  2. How do I create a teacher account on Carolina Science Online?

At www.carolinascienceonline.com click on “Create Free Teacher Account” (top right corner of the homepage) and follow the steps. Log in and select “School: NoneRegistered” from the top of the homepage. Use the search tool to find your school on Carolina Science Online and then ‘join’ your school account. If your school does not exist on CSO click on the link “If you cannot find your school, click here to create it.”

  3. What is a resource access code and why do I need one to get access to eBooks and other digital content from Carolina Biological?

An access code is a code that teachers and school administrators use to unlock access to copyrighted digital resources available at Carolina Science Online (www.carolinascienceonline.com).

  4. Where can I find my access code?

The “purchaser” of the materials from Carolina Biological Supply was sent an email with an ‘access code’. If you are the purchaser the access code was emailed automatically by our system to the email address used when you placed your order. If someone else at your school or the District office placed the order, they will have the access code and can forward it to you. If you are unable to locate the Access Code, send an email with the name of the kit you have purchased to cso_support@carolina.com and we will retrieve the access code and email this to you directly.

  5. How do I enter a resource access code?

Log in click MyResources => EnterANewCode and enter the access code.

  6. Other teachers at my school have an account on Carolina Science Online, but I don’t have an access code, how do I receive one?

If you are already a member of a school on CSO, log in and select MyResources => ActivatedResources on the top navigation bar, or click here. This will display a list of activated resources for your account. If you do not see the BBS or STC content you need in the ActivatedResources list then you will need to obtain an access code as described in Step 4 above.

  7. How do I know if someone at my school already has access to Carolina Science Online online?

Create a free teacher account on www.carolinascienceonline.com, log into your account, and then select the “School: NoneRegistered” link from the top of the homepage. Use the search tool to find your school on Carolina Science Online. If you find your school online, then at least one other person from your school already has a teacher account on CSO. You can click the options to “Contact the School Administrator” (this is the person who originally created the school account) or “Join This School”.
